Most of the work highlighted here was undertaken by RGSL under the direction of Prof. Reynolds (more information on RGSL can be found here). Under Prof. Reynolds direction, RIL continues to be proactive in the glacial hazard field and actively maintains international resarch links. A list of glacial hazard activities undertaken by RIL staff since Summer 2009 can be found here.

RIL Director Prof. John M. Reynolds was a founder member and former Vice Chairman of the Glacier and Permafrost Hazards (GAPHAZ) working group of the International Commission of Cryospheric Sciences (IACS) and the International Permafrost Association (IPA). RIL is a current member of GAPHAZ.
