Environmental regulation
The Environment Agency, as the principal environmental regulator in England and Wales, has established a new Regulatory Business Forum through which it will consult with representatives from business groups (e.g. Institute of Directors, National Farmers Union, Federation of Small Business, etc.) on its regulatory strategy. RIL’s MD, Prof. John M. Reynolds, has been invited to join this group in his capacity as Chairman of the Environment Agency’s NetRegs Business Advisory Group (for details of NetRegs, see www.netregs.gov.uk). The first meeting was held in London on 18th February.
