Hot topic in Chile
RIL’s MD, Prof. John M. Reynolds, attended the international glaciological conference “VICC 2010, Ice and climate change: a view from the South” at Valdivia in Chile, from the 1st-3rd February. He presented an invited keynote lecture on managing glacial hazards in a changing climate, focussing on work previously undertaken in Peru and Chile. This was a particularly high level meeting that was opened by Her Excellency the President of Chile. Details of the conference can be found at www.cecs.cl/vicc.
